Governor Mike DeWine said during his briefing today that there have been 1,453 new case reported in Ohio in the last 24 hours. He said there hadn't been so many new cases reported in Ohio since July. Gov. DeWine cited students returning to colleges and grade schools as a possible reason for the rise in cases. The 21-day day average is 1,037 cases.
There were also 27 deaths reported in Ohio in the last 24 hours. That is slightly higher than the 21-day average of 22 deaths. There were 10 deaths reported in the previous 24-hour period in Ohio. There have not been any death reported in Warren County either the last 48 hours.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 124,610 cases reported and 4,165 deaths reported in Ohio. There have been more cases reported in the United States than any other country in the world. There have been 6,118,204 total cases reported in the United States, which is more than 2,000,000 more cases that Brazil, which is the country with second-highest number of reported cases. Only the United States, Brazil (3,950,931), India (3,766,108) and Russia (1,000,048) have reported more than one million cases of COVID-19.
