Greetings from Franklin City Schools!

Speaking for the staff, administration, and board of education, we’re excited for the 2020-21 school year to begin on Sept. 8. When schools closed in mid-March, we didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to students in person, and it will be wonderful to see their faces when school begins.

Like all districts, our operations have a number of COVID-induced changes this year. For example: classrooms will be arranged differently; students and staff will have shields and protective face coverings; a percentage of our students will be learning remotely under the guidance of dedicated staff members; many fewer people will be permitted to attend sporting events; building visitors will be limited. The most up-to-date information on our Reopening Guidelines is always on our website, www.franklincityschools.com Practices to keep our students and staff safe were developed in conjunction with the other seven Warren County public school districts, the Warren County Career Center, the Warren County ESC, and the Warren County Health Department.

One aspect of our operations has not changed. We remain focused on our mission, which is to provide maximum learning so every student is college- and career-ready.

I look forward to telling you about the great things happening in Franklin City Schools. Next week, I'll talk about our district facility plan and the opportunity we have to build new school buildings at a steep discount thanks to the state of Ohio.

As always, don’t hesitate to contact me at (937) 746-1699 or msander@franklincityschools.com with any questions or concerns you might have.

Michael D. Sander, Ed.D

Superintendent, Franklin City Schools
