Mitchell To Be Arraigned in Franklin Tomorrow

Marcus Mitchell of Englewood is expected to be arraigned on Nov. 17.  He was charged with Fleeing and Eluding (felony 3), Motor Vehicle Theft (felony 5) Obstructing Official Business (felony 5), Operating a Motor Vehicle while Under the Influence (misdemeanor 1), and Driving Under Suspension (misdemeanor 1).  Mitchell, 35, was taken to the Warren County County Jail on Saturday night and held on a $55,000 bond.

According to a release, officers attempted to stop a stolen dark green Ford Ranger on North Main Street near Pennyroyal Road.  The driver fled from police east on Pennyroyal Road, continued north on Miamisburg-Springboro Road through Miamisburg and headed north on Soldiers Home Road.  The driver crashed after going behind a house in the 5800 block of Pinnacle Road.  He was found hiding in an overgrown wood line behind the residence a short time later.

Russ Whitman, Chief of the Franklin Police Department, said in the statement that they wanted to thank Miami Township Police, Miamisburg Police, Moraine Police and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department for their help.  "We would also like to that the Miami Valley Regional Dispatch Center for their work in keeping our officers safe and getting them the back-up needed for the successful resolution to our incident. Working across county lines are never easy, however, tonight it was seamless," Whitman said in a statement.
