Franklin, OH -- Franklin Football Player Ethan Adkins earned 3rd Team All Ohio. "This is a big accomplishment for him and our coaching staff," announced Brain Bales, Franklin's Athletic Director.

Wrestling

The Franklin wrestling team hosted the Franklin Invitational on Saturday Dec., 4th. Franklin placed 5th, just 1 point out of 4th. Placers for the team were as follows:

Cole Stephens - 1st; Austin Martinez - 1st; Landen Speers - 2nd; Gage Anderson - 3rd; Garrett Tackett - 3rd; Jessie Martin - 4th; Carter Reed - 5th; Nathan Briner - 5th; Brandon Garrett - 5th; Jude Kuhn - 5th; Nathan Baker - 6th; Will Long - 6th; and Brian Jimenez - 6th.

The team was scheduled to compete in the 47th annual Edgewood Invitational last weekend. The two day event was scheduled to have 27 teams.  

Swim

The swim team was finally able to kick off their season on 12/9 at the Warrior Invite in Trotwood. 

The team had a strong showing with Captain Tyler Bond, Bryson Hall, and Cooper Cole who lead the scoring for the boys. Captain Camille Lafferty, Lily Hunter, and Caty O'Hara lead the scoring for the girls. We had a lot of first time swimmers and I want to give a big shout out to them!

We have two swimmers of the meet: Marissa Wagner and Bryson Hall

Next up: Greenon Sprint Invitational 12/11 and the Dayton Christian Invite on 12/18. Please come out and support the swim team.

Bowling

Girls BowlingThe girls bowled their hearts out this week and beat their own personal records. On 12/6, we defeated Clinton Massie 1,641 to 1,343. Top averages were Bailey Judy with 168.5 and CJ Jones with 162.5. 

On 12/8 we lost to Carroll 1,906 to 2,243. Top averages were CJ Jones with 163.5 and Arebella Lloyd with 154.5. 

Next, we travel to Madison Bowl to bowl against Summit Country Day and next week we are at Crossgate on 12/13 and JD Legends on 12/15. 

Our season record thus far is 2-3.

Boys BowlingThe Team dropped 2 matches this week, but continue to improve.The Bowling Cats lost to Clinton-Massie on Monday. Elijah Milligan led the Cats with a 386 series. Elijah also had a 220 game on the night. 

The Team fell to undefeated Dayton Carroll on Wednesday. Elijah Milligan had the high series of 387, and Ashton Smiley had the high game of 202. 

Next, the Cats travel south for a match with Summit Country Day.

Basketball

Boys Basketball - Currently, the Franklin Basketball team is 4-1 overall with a 2-0 record in league play. The Cats had 3 big wins in the past week. 

Last Friday vs. Madison, the Cats won 76-45. Nate Paarlberg led the team in scoring with 23 points and collecting 9 rebounds. Isaiah Bales, Noah Rich and Kai Cook also reached double figures in scoring for the game. 

Saturday night, the Cats returned home to take on Division 1 Vandalia Butler. We were able to earn the win with a score of 66-54. Leading the way was Nate Paarlberg with 24 points and Isaiah Bales with 13 points. Pierce Bauerle collected 8 rebounds and Noah Rich dished out 6 assists. 

This past Tuesday, we hosted Division 1 opponent Dayton Belmont and came away with a 81-55 victory. Noah Rich exploded for 33 points, 4 assists and 8 rebounds. Nate Paarlber added 18, Isaiah Bales added 12 and Kai Cook added 10 points. Pierce Bauerle cleaned the glass again with 8 rebounds. 

The Cats continue to get great minutes from Rocky Williams, Ashton Everitt and Evan Fry. Friday, the team traveled to Valley View to take on the Spartans in a league contest. 

Congrats to the JV and Freshman team on their big wins this past week vs. Belmont!

Girls Basketball - Lady Cats dropped 2 games this week to Springfield on Monday and a League contest at Bellbrook Thursday night. The girls traveled to Waynesville for Saturday’s game with a 12:00 pm JV start.
