The Clearcreek Township Trustees declared two properties in Clearcreek Township a nuisance at their meeting on Monday, Aug. 24. A property of Meadowwoods Court was declared a nuisance because of grass height and a property on Waynesboro Way was declared a nuisance because of dead sapling trees.
Before the issue is brought to the trustees, township officials attempt to contact the property owner to get them to take care of the situation. When it comes to grass height, the property owners are typically contacted once the grass reaches a length of eight inches.
Now that the Clearcreek Township Trustees have declared these two properties as a nuisance, each property owners have seven days to correct the issue on their own. If they haven't done it or informed the township of their intention to do it, the township will have their contractor to do the work and they will bill the property owner for the cost. In the event that the property owner does not reimburse the township in a timely manner, township officials will ask the trustees to pass legislation to have the Warren County auditor to assess their property taxes in the following year.
