Elementary Students In Springboro Wrote Letters To The Troops For Veteran's Day
Springboro, OH --- Students in Grades 2 – 5 at Five Points Elementary have been working this week on writing letters and coloring notes for troops in the United States Military. In partnering with Blue Star Mothers of America, the Rosko Group sponsored a letter writing campaign for our troops to include personal notes and cards in the care packages sent throughout the year.
The Rosko Group reached out to Five Points Elementary asking students to write letters or to make a card for soldiers that are currently deployed. In addition to this, the district’s other school buildings, including Clearcreek and Dennis Elementary, have also had students write letters and create a student video to honor our veterans. Springboro Intermediate took up a candy collection from its Grade 6 students to send to troops over the holidays, as a way to fill up stockings.
For over ten (10) years, Blue Star Mothers has mailed 12,000 care packages to deployed troops. Blue Star Mothers of America is a private nonprofit organization in the United States that provides support for mothers who have sons or daughters in active service in the U.S. Armed Forces.
