WARREN COUNTY, OH -- Many of us who live in Warren County are very tied into Dayton, Ohio, either through work, family or other ways.  Good Morning Dayton!, is a new children’s book celebrating the history of Dayton, Ohio, and Carillon Historical Park. It is now available at the Carillon Historical Park Museum Store

Written by Barbara Cleary, Ph.D.—a pillar of The Miami Valley School for 53 years—with Brady Kress, President & CEO of Carillon Historical Park, the full-color, 65-page book pairs original verse with heartwarming illustrations by third through fifth graders at MVS and other area elementary schools. Designed to spark hometown pride in young readers, the book echoes the vision of Col. Edward A. Deeds, who founded Carillon Park in 1950, 75 years ago.

“I hope that people of all ages will enjoy the facilities of Carillon Park, but my own feeling is that there will be none to whom it will have greater meaning than the boys and girls in our schools,” said Deeds in a 1949 speech. “If, in the formative years of their lives, it helps to impart a knowledge of and a respect for the achievements of those who built this country, it will have achieved its purpose.”

Created with a similar spirit, Good Morning Dayton! supports Carillon Historical Park’s mission to inspire generations by connecting them with the unique people, places, and events that changed the Dayton region and the world.
