WARREN COUNTY, OH -- With Lent beginning, it seemed like a really good time to check out some seafood in the neighborhood. Alas! This is a problem IN Warren County proper as even the last Long John Silver’s has closed. However, nearby in both Butler and Montgomery counties you can visit the BONEFISH GRILL locations for a great fish dinner to eat in or carry out.

We decided to try something new when we dropped by for the BONEFISH GRILL BRUNCH. Yes, a real brunch at a seafood restaurant!
We visited the West Chester location and were not disappointed. A special 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Sat. and Sun. only) “brunch menu” features both seafood items and non seafood items. (There is a burger choice and vegetarian options for those in your party who may not be excited about eating seafood.)
We were excited about the “brunch cocktail choices,” which included special Mimosas and Bloody Marys for $8.00, as well as, other options at other prices.
The brunch menu selection were all interesting. We decided on the CRAB HUEVOS RANCHEROS, which was a layered Tex Mex style platter that included mini breaded crab balls and a medium spicy sauce for $17.90 and the BANG BANG SHRIMP @ BENEDICT, which was a traditional eggs benedict featuring shrimp instead of ham. It was served with potatoes and bacon for $16.50.
BANG BANG SHRIMP @ BENEDICT,Bread and oil was served on the side. Both entrees were very filling, but we couldn’t resist trying the Chocolate Crème Brulee topped with whipped cream and frozen cranberries for $9.50.
Chocolate Crème Brulee topped with whipped cream and frozen cranberriesThere were many great choices on the Brunch menu, which included Shrimp and Grits and Crème Brulee French Toast. We will likely want to try on a return trip.
Chatting with one of the managers, Matt, we found out that Mussels and Linguine (a favorite winter special) has been permanently discontinued, which made us sad as we have enjoyed this in the past!
There are wine dinners every month which feature a number of courses and are around $70.00 per person. These must be reserved ahead.
Lunch is served Monday- Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and most entrees are bargain priced in the $15.00 range. Dinner entrees start around $20.00 and go up from there.
TIPS : Reservations ARE taken, so don’t hesitate to call ahead for dinner as there are only 2 fish restaurants near Warren County, and Lent is a very busy time for them.
We “brunched” on a Saturday and were easily seated without reservations, but I would consider calling ahead on a Sunday... especially if you are bringing along a big group from church etc. Parking is easy, close and free at both locations.
