PATASKALA, OH - The Ohio Natural Energy Institute is proud to host another installment of their STEM & Geology Teacher Workshops for Ohio educators. Both of these professional development programs focus on the history, science, geology, and careers behind the natural gas and oil industry for teachers to take back to their classrooms and share with students.

“ONEi is excited to host another round of complimentary, immersive workshops for Ohio educators,” said Bruce Tague, Executive Director of the Ohio Natural Energy Institute. “Providing teachers with the right tools and connections is essential for fostering a well-informed generation that understands the importance of Ohio’s natural energy resources.”

The workshops this year include:

  • Geology Teacher Workshop and Field Trip at Kimble Companies HQ in Dover, OH on June 8-9
  • STEM Teacher Workshop and Field Trip at Salt Fork State Park Conference Center in Kimbolton, OH on June 23-24

Both workshops are free thanks to Ohio’s natural gas and oil producers, and will consist of a hands-on classroom workshop and field trip. Teachers will also have access to complimentary classroom materials, curriculum books, continuing education unit credits, and more.

“This was an outstanding workshop for learning something new about our state that I never knew,” said a past attendee. “It is information that all students should be taught or at least exposed to at some time during their education.”

If you are unable to attend the summer workshops, ONEi offers continuing education through the school year, focusing on free and customized presentations, hands-on industry based activities, career connections, and educational handouts.
