WARREN COUNTY, OH -- Summer fun and activites have begun within the Warren County Park District.  Last week people of all ages came out to Armco Park for the 2026 summer season of Tech-Free Tuesdays. This program was created to help kids get away from all their technological gadgets for a few hours and spend some time outdoor in nature. This open house style program is held on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon and rotates every other week from Armco Park to Landen-Deerfiel Park through Tuesday August 11.

A 4-H table was set up for kids and parents to ask questions about the animals that were there and to learn about 4-H.

During the 2 hour program, stations are set up for kids to learn about different subjects that go with the day's theme. While last week's theme at Armco Park was 4-H, this Tuesday's theme (June 9th) is Welcome to the Wetlands, which will be at Landen-Deerfield Park from 10a.m. to noon.

The only requirement needed to attend is that ALL children must have a responsible grown-up with them at all times. To see the themes for all the future Free Tech Tuesday, visit the park districts website  https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/cu/WxwtTRI/events or clicl here.

Also, Memorial Day weekend was the kick off of WCPD 100 Hours Outside. This program runs until the Labor Day.  It's a program to help get families and kids outside and enjoy nature. And, any time spent outside counts explained Shannon Pennington, Warren County Park District's Naturalists.

To help get kids, families and actually people of all ages outside, the Warren County Park District, along with such groups at Safe on Main, Friends of Warren County Park Distict and the WC Astronomical Society, just to name a few, have programs planned throughout the whole summer.... one being Cops and Boppers next Saturday (June 13) at Armco Park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
