A FUN ROAD TRIP TO KINGWOOD CENTER GARDENS

Image

After last week’s suite lodging in Mansfield, I did want to (in addition to connecting with an old friend) see some of the sights. Most people KNOW that the big tourist site in Mansfield is the old State prison — Ohio State Reformatory, where the 1994 classic The Shashank Redemption was shot. But, did you know there are a lot of other places to go and see in the area?

The Kingwood Center Gardens is just one of those places. It is filled with beautifu

l gardens and currently, there is an interesting art exhibit amid the plantings.

Alex Herverti’s GLASS IN FLIGHT 2 is currently with on exhibit until September 7. This exhibit of 18 sculptures is butterflies and birds ... all done in glass.

Definitely these are a beautiful addition to this wonderful site. Throughout the year, there are other exhibits including the holiday season. With so much to see, one should plan for  at least 1 ½ hours to view the gardens.
