PET RESCUES NEED YOU!!!

LEBANON, OH -- Every year the Cincinnati and Soup books and talks furnish needed products for local pet shelters in our communities. This has been going on for a number of years to get the attention of our neighbors to support these places “all year” not just during the holiday season. 

In past years these resident shelters have received visits from the “ Litter Faery” who provided bags and bags of cat litter, POOLS FOR PUPS which furnished plastic children’s pools for the dogs outdoor fun etc. This year hearing about a bleach shortage happening at a rescue the idea of SHINE THE SHELTER was born.

Using the NEEDS list from one of the Shelters we made up packages of cleaning items to donate for SHINE THE SHELTER. The NEEDS list includes, 

• paper towels, 
• bleach, 
• laundry detergent 
• and trash bags. Cincinnati and Soup author and Warren County Post Lifestyle column with Shine the Shelter donations for cleaning up pet shelters and rescues.

These are always wanted and always appreciated by these organizations for everyday use. This year we have been able to so far help : PAWS ADOPTION CENTER ( Middletown), LEAGUE FOR ANIMAL WELFARE, and HEARTT. We work with resident non-profit shelters for these donations.

TIPs: 

• Check online for your local shelter and see if they have a needs list posted or use the suggestions listed above.
• Consider adopting a dog or cat from your local shelter than from a pet store. 
• Checkout their online events and attend fundraisers.
• Looking to volunteer? All our local shelters and pet rescues constantly are seeking volunteers. This does include teens who often are looking for “community service” credits.
