WARREN COUNTY, OH -- Cincinnati Public Radio®, home to 91.7 WVXU, 88.5 WMUB and 90.9 WGUC, has welcomed two new reporters to the WVXU newsroom, thanks to the Adam R. Scripps Foundation.

The Fellowship Program supports multiple cohorts of two new reporters for three-year periods with the goal is to expand the Cincinnati-based station's geographic coverage.

Dany Villarreal Martinez

Dany Villarreal Martinez joined WVXU as the first Adam R. Scripps Fellow in January 2026. She is a graduate of the University of Washington- Seattle, and before joining us earlier this year, she interned at the International Examiner in Seattle and was a staff writer and columnist for the school newspaper, the Daily UW. Dany is a fellow at Investigative Reporters and Editors and was part of the news team at the Society of Professional Journalists 2025 Media Fest. She also interned abroad in Leon, Spain, at a national cultural and environmental non-profit in 2024. She was recognized as a 2025 Husky 100 by the University of Washington.

Dany reports on Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties in Northern Kentucky and has already reported on the use of Flock cameras in Newport and the beginnings of a new governing structure in Covington, Kentucky.

Lilley Halloran

The second Adam R. Scripps Fellow is Lilley Halloran, a graduate of the University of Missouri and a recent intern at St. Louis Public Radio. She also reported and anchored at the school radio station, KBIA, where her work on the story “Mizzou’s Black student population fell faster than others after 2015 protest, data shows” earned her a Gracie Award from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation. She describes herself as a fierce supporter of public service journalism and believes her role as a journalist is to inform others and close information gaps. Lilley joined the WVXU newsroom in July 2026, and will establish our coverage of Butler, Warren and Clermont counties.
