COOL OFF AT SCANDINAVIAN HOME IN THE TAFT MUSEUM

Last week my editor suggested that I DO some stories with “cool ideas" for summer. So, last week I went to see CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY at La Comedia Dinner Theatre, and this week, I went on a field trip to the Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati to check out their touring exhibit for summer:.. "The Scandinavian Home: Landscape and Lore." It seemed like a really “cool” thing to do.

This was a great exhibit of not only paintings but household items, art pottery and even some furniture. Definitely a great variety of items from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, which you can’t see every day in the Cincinnati area. Having some distant Swedish relatives, this exhibit meant a lot to my companion, who toured this with me. We ate at the Taft Café and enjoyed some special menu items from Scandinavia, which had been added to the menu for the touring exhibit.

The Scandinavian Home is on display until September 20. The Taft Museum has a variety of admission prices. 

• FREE on SUNDAY AND MONDAY. 
• Parking is always free. 
• The Museum is closed every Tuesday.
