Rear Admiral Matthew Pottenburgh to Visit Cincinnati for Navy Week

WARREN COUNTY, OH — Dan Beard Council, Scouting America, is pleased to welcome Rear Admiral Matthew Pottenburgh to Cincinnati as part of the city's celebration of Navy Week, September 13-20.

U.S. Navy Week is a nationwide outreach effort that takes place throughout the year, with 12 cities chosen for weeklong celebrations throughout 2026. This year marks the first time Navy Week has returned to Cincinnati since 2011.

RDML Pottenburgh is looking forward to speaking with the Scouting family and greater Cincinnati community about his experiences in Scouting and in the Navy.

The event will take place at the USS Cincinnati Memorial – Peace Pavilion in Voice of America MetroPark in West Chester on Monday, September 14, 2026. RDML Pottenburgh will speak at 7:00 p.m. and looks forward to answering questions from attendees.

In honor of Navy Week, the Submarine Cincinnati Memorial Association will offer guided tours of the USS Cincinnati Peace Pavilion from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with additional tours after RDML Pottenburgh's remarks based on interest. All are welcome.

The USS Cincinnati Memorial – Peace Pavilion is located in the Voice of America MetroPark, West Chester, OH.
