WARREN COUNTY, OH -- As flu season approaches, the Warren County Health District (WCHD) is encouraging all residents six months of age and older to get vaccinated. The health district’s mobile unit will also offer flu vaccines by appointment or on a walk-up basis.
Per the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), flu activity in Ohio typically begins to rise in the fall and peaks between December and February. Flu can cause mild to severe illness, and it can lead to hospitalization or death, particularly among older adults, young children, pregnant women, and people with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease.
“The influenza vaccine is a safe and easy way to help the residents of Warren County stay healthy”, said Dr. James Sosnowski, Medical Director for the Warren County Health District. “It is believed to prevent millions from getting ill and can reduce the severity of illnesses. The CDC estimates that the influenza vaccine prevents nearly 200,000 hospitalizations and 12,000 deaths annually.”
Why Vaccination Matters:
Warren County residents have several convenient options for getting a flu vaccine this season.
WCHD Mobile Health will be out in the community at locations across the county, offering flu vaccines on a walk-up basis. No appointment is necessary. Residents can stop by during posted hours, and staff will take care of the rest. Upcoming stops include:

WCHD Vaccination Clinics. Residents can also get vaccinated at WCHD’s vaccination clinic, located at 416 South East Street, Lebanon, Ohio 45036.
Please bring your insurance card if you have one. WCHD bills Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care plans, and most private insurance plans. Uninsured children may receive vaccine through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program for a $15 administration fee. If WCHD cannot bill your private insurance, you may pay for the vaccine plus the $15 administration fee, or staff can refer you to another provider.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. To schedule an appointment, please call 513-695-1229.
Flu vaccines are also available through health care providers and many local pharmacies. Anyone who is sick with a fever on the day of their visit should wait until they feel better, and people with a history of severe allergic reactions to a vaccine should talk with their health care provider first.
