Resurrection Lutheran Church Celebrates 60th Anniversary with Free Gospel Music Concert

LEBANON, Ohio — Resurrection Lutheran Church invites the community to celebrate its 60th anniversary with a free concert featuring Robert Ray’s celebrated Gospel Mass on Saturday, November 7, at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend this special evening of music and celebration.

The concert will feature musicians from Resurrection’s Choral and Praise Band, accompanied by Wade Cummins and directed by Amy Prestridge. The combined ensemble will perform additional musical selections before presenting Gospel Mass, the acclaimed 1979 choral work by American composer and pianist Robert Ray.

Blending traditional Latin and Catholic liturgical Mass texts with contemporary African-American musical styles, Gospel Mass brings together gospel, jazz, blues, funk, rock, and spirituals in a vibrant celebration of faith through music.

The concert will take place at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1270 N. Broadway in Lebanon. A reception will follow the performance, offering attendees an opportunity to connect and celebrate the congregation’s 60 years of worship, fellowship, and service.

The concert is free and open to the public. Community members of all ages are invited to join Resurrection Lutheran Church for this milestone anniversary celebration.
