MAINEVILLE, Ohio — Warren County Park District invites all nature lovers to celebrate completion of theHeadwaters Restoration at Landen-Deerfield Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, July 10, at 3:00 p.m.

The event will be held at Landen-Deerfield Park, 2258 U.S. 22 & 3, Maineville, OH 45039.

The Headwaters Restoration project transformed a former manmade pond into a natural stream and wetland system that improves water quality in the Little Miami River watershed, reduces flood risk, creates habitat for native plants and wildlife, and provides a more sustainable landscape for future generations.

In addition to its environmental benefits, the project creates new opportunities for nature play, education, and recreation. Visitors can explore trails, viewpoints, and restored stream corridors while learning how wetlands and streams improve water quality and support wildlife. The restored area serves as a living classroom where people of all ages can experience the value of healthy natural systems firsthand.

"This project demonstrates how parks can protect our natural resources while creating meaningful opportunities for people to learn, explore, and connect with nature," said Matt Latham, Executive Director of the Warren County Park District. "We're excited to celebrate this milestone with the community and recognize the partnerships that made it possible."

The project was funded through Ohio Governor Mike Dewine's H2Ohio program and the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Warren County Park District also recognizes the contributions of its project partners, including Warren County Commissioners, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Deerfield Township, and Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is free and open to the public. Staff will be offering guided tours of the new space. For more information about the event and the project, visit www.warrencountyparks.com
