Saffron Indian Cuisine in Maineville

MAINEVILLE, OH -- I'm always trying to find new “hidden gems” in Warren County. And, although Saffron Indian Cuisine (35 E.Grandin, Maineville, OH 45039) has been open for several years, this was our first visit.

Featuring a variety of North Indian foods, SAFFRON also has a variety of Biryani and Clay Oven specialties — so there is “something for all tastes”.

We each enjoyed one of the lunch entrees. These are select your own items from the regular menu served in “buffet trays.”

The Vegetarian lunch includes 3 vegetarian entrees, rice, dessert and naan bread for $18.99, while the Non-vegetarian lunch includes 2 chicken and 1 lamb entrée for $20.99.

We were both surprised that the portions were large and very filling. Other diners were ordering dinner portions for their group dining and sharing those. This might be a good suggestion for a family or large number of folks eating together. All dishes are homemade and can be spiced according to your taste.

The restaurant is located near the new Krogers in a busy area of Maineville and convenient to Route 48 just behind the car wash. There is a helpful traffic light to get you on to E. Grandin.

We enjoyed our visit and also chatted with our server who is a member of the family that owns the restaurant.

TIPS:

Plan to go early for lunch and plan extra time as every thing is cooked to order.
Naan Bread is amazing! It is made in the traditional style of thin bread. Be sure to order this. Garlic is extra good!
Bar drinks include beer and wine in addition to soft drinks and tea and traditional Indian Lassis, Chai etc.
