Wawa Continues Ohio Expansion with Grand Opening of First Store in Warren County

MASON, OH -- Wawa invites the public to come out and celebrate its grand opening this Thursday August 28, 2025 starting at 8 am when its doors open at its new location in Mason on 5450 Kings Mills Rd. Mason, OH 45040

Wawa continues its expansion into Ohio with a grand opening event in Mason, marking Wawa’s first store in Warren County. During the event, the company will be joined by hundreds of customers, local officials, first responders and community partners to mark this milestone in Wawa history.  Some of the days highlights include:

  • Ribbon-cutting ceremony (at 8:30 am)
  • Free, limited-edition t-shirts for first 100 customers, as supplies last
  • Free hot, any-size coffee from August 28th through August 31st
  • Wawa’s “Parade of the Ages,” showcasing milestones over the company’s 200-year history
  • Wawa’s leadership sharing expansion plans and ongoing investment in Ohio
  • Local officials highlighting the positive impact of Wawa’s expansion on the economy
  • Wawa’s “Hoagies for Heroes” hoagie-building competition between Mason Police and Fire Departments

Wawa is thrilled to mark the next chapter of its Midwest expansion with the opening of this, its third store in Ohio. Wawa projects opening 8-10 stores in the Buckeye State in 2025. Over the next 5-8 years, Wawa plans to build and open 6-10 stores per year in Ohio, with expectations to open up to 60 stores in the state. To build each store, Wawa will invest more than $7.5 million and employ, on average, 140 contractors and local partners. Once open, each store will employ an average of 35 associates, with Wawa expecting to create 2,100 new, long-term new jobs as a result of expansion in Ohio.
