Carlisle Historical Society Book Sale Offers Something for Every Reader

CARLISLE, OH— Readers searching for their next mystery, cookbook, biography or children’s story will have thousands of books to choose from during the Carlisle Area Historical Society’s upcoming book sale.

The sale will run Tuesday, Sept. 15, through Sunday, Sept. 20, at the historical society, 453 Park Drive in Carlisle.

Sale hours will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The sale will remain open for extended hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Karen Nicely of the Carlisle Area Historical Society said the sale includes a large variety of books covering numerous subjects and interests. The collection includes fiction, nonfiction, biographies, history books, cookbooks, gardening and health books, Christian titles and homeschooling materials.

Families will also find a large selection of children’s books. Other available items include yearbooks, older books and collectible Little Golden Books.

Paperback books will cost $1, while hardcover books will cost $2. Some older, collectible and special-edition books will be individually priced.

Nicely thanked community members who donated books and helped make the sale possible. Proceeds from the event will support the Carlisle Area Historical Society and its work to preserve and share the community’s history.

“We truly appreciate you,” Nicely said in a video promoting the sale. “We hope to see you.”
