Carlisle Marching Band Takes First Place at Trojan Invitational

CARLISLE, OH -- The Carlisle High School Marching Band brought home a first-place finish from the 45th annual Trojan Invitational Marching Band Contest held Saturday, Sept. 12, in Troy.

Carlisle finished first in its competitive class during the regional competition, which featured approximately 12 to 15 high school marching bands.

Band Director John Oliver said the accomplishment reflects months of preparation by the students, who spent much of the summer rehearsing and preparing for the fall marching band season.

Oliver said he was proud of the students and credited their hard work, dedication and commitment throughout the summer training months for the strong performance in Troy.

The competition season is not slowing down for Carlisle.

The marching band will return to competition Saturday, Sept. 19, when it travels to Tippecanoe High School for its next contest.

The Carlisle High School Marching Band includes student musicians and color guard members who spend months preparing their field show for performances at football games and marching band competitions throughout the fall season.

The first-place finish at the Trojan Invitational gives the band an early-season accomplishment as students and directors continue preparing for the remainder of the 2026 competition schedule.
