Warren County Ranks 11th In Ohio For Coronavirus Cases Per 100,000 People

Warren County has had more Coronavirus occurrences per 100,000 people than 77 other counties in Ohio.  The ranking is figured by the number of cases per 100,000 people in the county.   Since Warren County has a population of over 234,000, there have been over 116 cases per 100,000 people between Aug. 25 and Sept. 7.  Overall, there have been 274 cases in that time period. 

Warren County ranks higher than some counties with more total cases because Warren County has a lower total population than some of the other counties in the state.  Two of the counties that border Warren County are in the top five on the list.  Butler County ranks number two on the list with 246.1 cases per 100,000 people or a total of 943 cases between Aug. 25 and Sept. 7.  Montgomery County ranked number with 196.4 cases per 100.000 or 1,044 during the last two weeks.  Even though Montgomery County had more total cases in the last two weeks, it ranked lower than Butler County because of population.   There are 531,687 people in Montgomery County and 383,134 people in Butler County. 

Six of the top ten counties have a population of under 50,000 people and seven of the top 10 counties are under 100,000 people.  Counties with less than 100,000 people have a higher count of cases per 100,000 than total number of cases because the number The top county, Putnam County, has a rank of 301.2 cases per 100,000 cases with only 102 cases in the last two weeks.  Henry County ranked number 10 on the list with only 35 cases between Aug. 25 and Sept. 7.  Henry County has a total population of 27,006.
