In a letter mailed to the community on Sept. 17, Dr. David Vail, superintendent of Carlisle Local Schools, wrote that they "recently received information about at least one confirmed case of COVID-19 in a student or staff person at Carlisle Elementary. Cleaning and disinfecting of the exposed locations have been completed."

The letter does not tell which day they received this information and does not disclose whether the person with the confirmed case was a student or a staff member.

In addition to sending out the letter, it was posted on the district's webpage and there was also a link to the letter posted on social media.

According to the letter, Carlisle Elementary will remain open at this time.  "We are working closely with Warren County Health District and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department as a part of COVID-19 investigation," the letter said.

The letter also provided tips for how people could help reduce the spread of COVID-19, including staying six feet apart, staying home when they are sick, wearing a facemask,  washing hands, and more.  The letter directs people with questions to contact District Nurse Rebecca Baker at 937-746-8969 ext. 242, or the Warren County Health District at (513) 695-2097.
