FRANKLIN, OH -- Jeffrey Larsh recently visited the Franklin Area Historical Society, where he gave a talk about and signed copies of his books “Paul Larsh an Original Frontiersman” and “Frontier Warriors.”
Larsh has done extensive research about his real-life ancestor, Paul Larsh and has created a narrative which brings to life the story of the Larsh family throughout history, before and after the American Revolution, and what life was like before America was a country.
In his talk, Larsh discussed what life was like in the mid to late 1700’s as a “coureur des bois” or French woodsman who hunted, trapped and traded with the Indians. He spoke about the many places Paul and company traveled as they portaged around rivers and falls, navigated along the Ohio and Mississippi rivers and their tributaries, and trekked between French forts and Indian villages with great care and skill.
To learn more watch the video of Jeffrey Larsh and his conversation with the community about his journey of discovery sparked by a family history and some documents he received at a family reunion as a young man. Take a look at the Pennsylvania Long Rifle, he received as a family heirloom that has been in the family over 200 years.
