WEST CARROLLTON, OH – Whisperz Speakeasy, the heart of West Carrollton’s prohibition-era
speakeasy revival, is proud to announce its one-year anniversary this February. Since opening
its doors in 2025, Whisperz has transformed from a vision of vintage charm into a premiere
destination for those seeking an exclusive sanctuary of bygone elegance.

Brought to life by Julie and David Ziemba, Whisperz was inspired by the cozy jazz bars of
Chicago and meticulously crafted with globally-sourced treasures, including authentic
Murano glass chandeliers from Italy and luxurious glassware from the Netherlands and
Denmark. Over the past twelve months, Whisperz has become more than just a cocktail
lounge; it has become a curated experience where the allure of the Roaring Twenties meets
modern sophistication.

The owners and staff at Whisperz Speakeasy wish to express their deepest gratitude to each
guest, performer, and the overall community for making their first year a success!

A Year in Review: Milestones and Magic
In its first year, Whisperz Speakeasy has curated an incredible array of experiences:
     - A Password-Protected Legacy: We’ve written over 52 unique passwords, including weekly
secrets and private event entry codes, maintaining the thrill of exclusivity for our guests.
     - The Soul of Jazz: We’ve hosted over 195 nights of free live music, featuring more than 25
different musicians and ensembles, providing the soundtrack to countless memories.
     - Award-Winning Style: In April, Whisperz won “Best Set Up” at CultureWorks’ Curated
event at the Dayton Art Institute. In August, we took home "Best Mocktail" at Artini,
thanks to a delicious creation by our own General Manager, Hannah Lawson.

A Journey Through the Months
The past year has been defined by a series of sold-out events and community collaborations:
     - February 2025: Celebrated our Soft Opening (Feb 8) followed by a Grand Opening
weekend (Feb 14) featuring Heather & The Swing Set with lines down the sidewalk
     - May: Hosted a sold-out Derby Day Soiree with the Deron Bell Band.
     - July: Launched Monday night cocktail classes and increased live music to four nights per
week.
     - September: Introduced "Come As You Are" Open House events and shifted Mondays to
Wine & Dinner Pairings while increasing our live music performances to five nights per
week
     - October: A New Riff Bourbon Pairing and two sold out nights of our Halloween
Masquerade Party featuring the Deron Bell Band
     - December: A successful Whiskey & Wine collaboration with social media influencers Sam
Fletcher & Dr. Heather Hellweg and a sold-out New Year’s Eve celebration with two fabulous live performances featuring Glad Rags & Giggle Water and Heather & The Swing
Set.

Looking Ahead to 2026
As Whisperz Speakeasy enters its second year, the commitment to atmosphere and artistry
remains. The lounge will continue to offer five nights of free live music weekly, expanding its
repertoire to include R&B, soul, blues, and rock & roll, while keeping Jazz as its "first love".
Upcoming celebrations include a Galentine’s Day Brunch on Sunday, February 8th and a One
Year Valenversary Celebration on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14th featuring Chasing
Dreams Band with Queen Destiny on vocals and two ticketed seatings available for a night of
