COLUMBUS, OH -- State Rep. Adam Mathews (R-Lebanon) is pleased to announce his House committee assignments for the 136th General Assembly.
He has been appointed by Ohio House Speaker Matt Huffman (R-Lima) as Vice Chair of the House Judiciary Committee. Both criminal justice and civil justice will now fall under this committee.
In addition to this role, he will serve on the following committees:
- Public Insurance and Pensions Committee
- Technology and Innovation Committee
- Arts, Athletics, & Tourism Committee
"I am grateful to the Speaker for entrusting me with these great community assignments," Mathews.
Mathews currently works as in-house legal counsel for Heartbeat International. He also was the driving force in securing more than $50 million to keep the Cincinnati Open Tennis Tournament, the third-largest tennis event in the country, in his district.
“As we saw with the Cincinnati Open, tourism is incredibly important to the economy of Ohio and needs to be defended and supported,” said Mathews. “Whether it is supporting tennis or Kings Island in the Tourism committee or using my legal background on the Judiciary committee, I am excited to continue representing the good people of Warren County."
Committee hearings can be streamed at www.ohiochannel.org.
