Warren County Park District Announces Free Fishing Pole Rentals at Armco Park

LEBANON, OH — Warren County Park District is making it easier than ever for families and first-time anglers to enjoy a day on the water with the introduction of free fishing pole rentals for a limited time at Armco Park, available now through September 30, 2026.

The new program is made possible through a partnership between Bass Pro Shops of West Chester and Friends of Warren County Park District, whose support has helped remove barriers and create more opportunities for residents and visitors to experience the outdoors.

Fishing poles will be available for park guests to check out during normal park operating hours by visiting the boat dock at Armco Park. The free rentals are intended to encourage people of all ages and experience levels to give fishing a try and enjoy time together outdoors.

While fishing pole rentals are free, normal daily fishing pass rates apply for guests ages 16 and older. Children ages 15 and under always fish for free.

"We are grateful to Bass Pro Shops of West Chester and Friends of Warren County Park District for helping make fishing more accessible to our community," said Shannon Pennington, Nature Education Supervisor for WCPD. "Whether someone is an experienced angler or casting a line for the very first time, we hope this program inspires more people to discover the joy of spending time outdoors.”

In addition to being available for free rental this summer, the poles were used during the “Cops and Bobbers” youth fishing derby earlier this summer and will be available during a Back to School Bash on 8/8 and Tech-Free Tuesday on 8/11.
