The Banks Celebrates Dolly Parton Day with 9/25 Day on September 25

CINCINNATI – Tumble out of work and stumble to The Banks for 9/25 Day: A Dolly Parton Celebration on Friday, September 25, from 4 to 9:25 p.m.

The Banks will celebrate the Queen of Country with an evening inspired by Dolly Parton’s music, unmistakable style and commitment to literacy. Participating bars and restaurants throughout The Banks will feature Dolly-inspired cocktails, music and special activations.

Guests are encouraged to break out the rhinestones, big hair and boots and come dressed in their best Dolly-inspired attire. And because no celebration of Dolly would be complete without giving back, guests are invited to bring a new children’s book for ages birth through 5 to The Stretch to support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Cincinnati/Hamilton County.

Participating locations and featured cocktails confirmed to date include:

• The Park: The Jolene, a spicy margarita
• Killer Queen: Cup of Ambition, an espresso martini
• The Stretch: Tennessee Queen, featuring Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Whiskey
• Cincinnati Lager House: The Dollywood, featuring Tennessee whiskey, peach, honey and fresh lemon. A little Tennessee, a little Southern sweetness and a whole lotta Dolly.
• Jefferson Social: Peachy Mae Parton, a Peach Margarita

Additional participating locations, entertainment and activations will be announced.

A Celebration With a Purpose

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library provides one free, brand-new, age-appropriate book every month to children from birth through age 5, regardless of family income.

Nearly 32,000 children are currently enrolled in Hamilton County, representing approximately 66 percent of eligible children under age 5.

The program helps children build their own home libraries, develop early literacy skills and enter kindergarten ready to learn. Each monthly book is selected for the child’s age and developmental stage, giving families a regular opportunity to read, talk and learn together.

The local program’s goal is to reach every eligible child in Hamilton County and ensure that more young children have access to books at home.

For the 9/25 Day book drive, organizers are especially seeking brand-new books for children from birth through age 5, including board books for babies and toddlers and engaging picture books for preschoolers. Books featuring diverse children, families, cultures and experiences, including books by Black authors and featuring Black characters, are especially welcome.
