Otterbein Loveland SeniorLife Neighborhood Showcases Small House Neighborhoods at the 2024 Green House Project

LOVELAND, OH -- Otterbein SeniorLife, a national leader in the operation of “Green House” (Small House) skilled nursing neighborhoods and affiliated with Green House in 2021, hosted the highly anticipated 2024 Green House Project Development Workshop, a two-day event focused on exploring and educating participants about the financial, operational, and clinical aspects of the Green House model (Small House Neighborhoods). The workshop took place from August 21 to August 22, leaving a lasting impact on attendees from around the world.
“The Green House Project was proud to host this year’s development workshop in Ohio and share Otterbein’s small-home neighborhoods with representatives from around the country and the world,” said Susan Ryan, CEO of the Center for Innovation – the non-profit parent of The Green House Project and Pioneer Network. “The Green House movement keeps growing because of dedicated providers like Otterbein that commit to creating the next generation of eldercare services.”
President and CEO Jill Wilson had the honor of sharing the inspiring story behind Otterbein's Small House Neighborhoods, highlighting the organization's pioneering liberation movement and its journey to becoming the largest not-for-profit Green House provider in the nation and the world. Currently, Otterbein operates nine neighborhoods, encompassing a total of 45 small houses, along with an additional two houses located at Marblehead, resulting in an impressive total of 47 Small Houses.
A special panel discussion featuring Otterbein team members from Loveland and Middletown provided an invaluable opportunity to delve into best practices and operational insights. Participants engaged in invigorating conversations, sharing their experiences on how Otterbein's approach liberates the elders and those who serve them from the constraints of institutional care, fostering a more enriching and empowering environment.
