For Democratic Candidate Laura Marie Davis not winning Ohio’s 55th House District doesn't mean goodbye
WARREN COUNTY, OH -- While Laura Marie Davis (D), who ran for the open seat for Ohio’s 55th House District against Michelle Teska (R), did not win, she took time to thank her supporters and let them know she is committed to staying engaged.
"I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who showed their support throughout this journey. I am deeply honored to have had the opportunity to campaign in Ohio’s 55th House District, and I am so proud of everything we achieved together. From amplifying local voices to strengthening bipartisan collaboration, this campaign demonstrated what we are truly capable of when we come together in community—and that important work does not stop now.
I am committed to staying engaged in our local communities, building new relationships, and advocating for the well-being of families across Warren County. I am determined to bring civility to politics, ensuring that bipartisan conversations are productive, effective discourse. We need leadership that prioritizes people and families over party lines, keeping Ohio’s communities strong and resilient. Additionally, I will remain focused on safeguarding our public schools, fighting for quality education for our kids and consistent care for our teachers and administrators in public schools.
Thank you for believing in this campaign and for supporting a vision of progress and unity. Together, we have laid the groundwork for change, and I look forward to what we will accomplish."
State Rep Scott Lipps, who currently holds Ohio’s 55th House District seat, was not able to run again because of term limits.
Teska, who won over 72 percent of the votes, spent 23 of her career years with Cox Media Group where she was a national sales manager for WHIO-TV, WHIO-AM/FM, WHKO-FM & WZLR-FM. Today she and her husband Steve own small business Golden Heart Senior Care.
Teska will formally take office when the 136th General Assembly convenes on Monday January 6, 2025.
