TAZIKIS MEDITERRANEAN CAFÉ: GYROS ON THE GO

MASON, OH -- Although TAZIKIS is a national “Greek style” chain restaurant, there are only a few in the Greater Cincinnati area and only one in Warren County. This Cafe is located in Mason and has a selection of Greek foods freshly prepared quickly while you wait .

We were “on the go “ this week and didn’t really have time for a long lunch break. TAZIKIS fit the bill nicely. We arrived and giving our order, we were served in around 5 minutes. The food was custom grilled with fresh vegetables. The specialty is of course the GYRO, which is a Greek “sandwich” of meat (chicken, lamb or beef usually) with lettuce and tomatoes and “taziki sauce” (cucumber and sour cream). In addition, this restaurant also has a variety of Greek salads, hummus, falafel, soup and baklava for dessert.

We ordered a Chicken Gyro plate, which included potato chips and a side salad of tomato- cucumbers for $10.99.

The second order was a Chicken Feast that included grilled chicken, basmati rice, Greek salad and a pita chip, which was a lot more food for $13.49.

Fountain drinks and tea were extra. For the quantity and quality of the food, these were both healthful, tasty and budget friendly. Beer and wine are available, but we didn’t order these. 

Salmon and shrimp are on the regular menu, but during the Lenten season, there is a special grilled fish offering. There is also vegetarian and gluten free options for those who would choose these, and a kids menu. Items are offered online and carryout, as well..

I got a chance to talk to the manager Diane. She told me... "Many people drop in and are surprised to find Greek foods available in Mason!"

Diane is an active welcomer at this location, greeting everyone as she serves lunch while making it a place you enjoy being at.

We loved our lunch, plus the warm friendly atmosphere, at this quick and reasonable restaurant in busy Mason. We will go back!
