SPRINGBORO, Ohio โ Springboro City Council will meet Thursday, Sept. 17, with a work session beginning at 6 p.m. followed by its regular meeting at 7 p.m. at the Springboro Municipal Building, 320 W. Central Ave.
During the 6 p.m. work session, council members are scheduled to review legislative items appearing on the eveningโs regular meeting agenda and hear reports or updates from the city manager, clerk of council and council members.
The regular meeting will begin at 7 p.m. with a presentation recognizing Constitution Week, Sept. 17-23. A proclamation will be presented to the Jonathan Wright Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in observance of the week.
Council also is scheduled to consider three legislative items.
An ordinance receiving its second reading would amend several sections of Springboroโs codified ordinances. The agenda identifies the affected sections as 881.091(A), 881.10(C), 881.21 and 881.99 but does not provide additional details about the proposed changes.
Council also will consider separate resolutions concerning tax rates and levies for the portions of Springboro located in Warren County and Montgomery County.
The resolutions would formally accept the amounts and rates determined by the respective county budget commissions, authorize the necessary tax levies and certify them to the county auditors. Such resolutions are part of the annual process municipalities use to certify property tax rates and anticipated revenue.
Springboro is located in both Warren and Montgomery counties, requiring the city to address the tax certifications for each county separately.
The meeting agenda also includes reports from the mayor, city manager and council committees, followed by other business, final council and manager comments and an opportunity for guest comments and executive session if needed.
