Clearcreek Trustees to Consider 70-Acre Rezoning, Police and Fire Personnel Changes

CLEARCREEK TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Clearcreek Township trustees are scheduled to consider a nearly 71-acre residential rezoning request, welcome several new public safety employees and recognize the upcoming retirement of a longtime police lieutenant during their Monday, Sept. 14, meeting.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Clearcreek Township Government Center, 7593 Bunnell Hill Road.

One of the evening’s major items will be a public hearing on a Stage 1 zone change application involving 70.9292 acres owned by the Daniel J. Kahmann Revocable Living Trust. The property is currently zoned R-1A residential, and the applicant is seeking to have it rezoned as a Residential Planned Unit Development, or R-PUD.

The hearing will include a staff summary, presentation by the applicant and an opportunity for public testimony in support of or opposition to the proposal, as well as general comments. Trustees are then scheduled to consider Resolution 5698 to approve, modify or deny the zoning request.

The meeting will also include several personnel actions involving the township’s police and fire departments.

Trustees are expected to appoint Brandon Lingenfelter as a probationary police officer through lateral entry at $43.74 per hour, effective Oct. 1. Lingenfelter is scheduled to take the oath of office during the meeting.

Firefighter/paramedic Sean O’Neill is expected to be promoted to probationary lieutenant at $36.84 per hour. Fire department employees Cameron Deye, Ethan Murphy and Jamie Burgasser are also scheduled to take their oaths of office.

Trustees will also consider accepting the retirement resignation of Police Lt. Wallace Stacy, effective Nov. 1. The agenda recognizes Stacy for 19 years of service to Clearcreek Township.

The Fire District agenda includes a conditional offer of employment to Frederick “Tom” Courville as a firefighter/EMT at $24.91 per hour, pending satisfactory background and pre-employment screenings.

Other business includes a resolution accepting streets in Sections Two and Three of Country Creek Estates for township maintenance and a resolution accepting tax rates determined by the Warren County Budget Commission.

Trustees will also consider accepting a $150 donation from Jay Harbin for the Echo Valley Disc Golf Course at Hoffmann Reserve and a $100 donation from Jerry and Shirley Hidy for the Clearcreek Fire District.

Also, included on the agenda are monthly reports from the police, fire, planning and zoning, and road departments, along with staff updates.

A general public comment period is scheduled during the meeting, with speakers limited to three minutes each.
