COLUMBUS, Ohio – It’s a fall color extravaganza in Ohio as foliage flaunts some of the best colors the state has seen in a while. Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is reporting “peak” color throughout the state with some "fading" colors in Northern Ohio.
“Ohio is definitely putting on a great show right now with some of amazing fall colors all across the state,” said ODNR Fall Color Forester David Parrott. “As we near the end of the season, it is a great time to get outdoors!”

Lake Hope State Park offers a truly relaxing and rustic getaway. The entire park lies within the Zaleski State Forest. The park's forested region is marked by steep gorges and narrow ridges with remnants of abandoned mining and iron-producing industries. The park surrounds the lake and boasts a wooded family campground, cabins, as well as a Dining Lodge.
And don’t forget, outdoor burning is prohibited in unincorporated areas from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. through November. ODNR encourages anyone burning to take protective actions and be safe. Burning is restricted in the fall due to the abundance of dry grass, weeds, and leaves on the ground.
With the fall color season coming to an end, don’t forget the holidays are right around the corner. Give the gift of the outdoors with items from ODNR including our Parks Passport, gift cards from Ohio State Parks or Wildlife, and our limited edition ornament all available at ohiodnr.gov.
Those interested in finding the most eye-catching leaves throughout the season should check out ODNR’s Fall Color website, the official guide to the changing colors. The website includes:
