Carlisle Students Preparing For This Weekend Production of The Addams Family

CARLISLE, OH -- Students at Carlisle have been busy getting ready for their production of The Addams Family coming to the CHS Theatre this weekend. Some of the kids took time out to talk with the www.WarrenCountyPost.com special writer Geraldine Baker before this week's show.

Let’s meet The Addams Family

The Addams Family is a quirky, odd family that are unaware that other people find them bizarre. They live in a gloomy mansion/ possibly an abandoned asylum, which is haunted on Cemetery Ridge.

Gomez Addams- is played by Logan Miller, an 8th grade at Carlisle Junior High School. This is Logan’s 3rd performance in Carlisle Theater Arts program, Beauty and the Beast Jr- as Lefou, Footloose Jr- as Bickle, Willard’s friend.

When Logan heard that The Addams Family was going to be the junior production this year, he felt like he would like to try out for Pugsley- But, one of the directors suggested he try out for Gomez, AND, he got the role. Logan said Gomez is a loyal husband, father and is pulled between the 2 women that he loves.

Logan plays Ice Hockey and is in the National Junior Honor Society.

Morticia Addams- is played by Amy Nauta, an 8th grader at Carlisle Junior High school. This is Amy’s 3rd performance in Carlisle Theater Arts program, Frozen Jr, Beauty and the Beast Jr. and Footloose Jr. Amy knew she wanted to try out for Morticia, she likes that she is in charge of the family and shows different emotions during the show.

Amy is in National Junior Honor Society and is involved in gymnastics.

Pugsley Addams- is played by Fletcher Steckel, an 6th Grade at Carlisle Elementary School. This is Fletcher’s 3rd performance with Carlisle Theater Arts program, “Les Miserable” and Madagascar. Pugsley is the dedicated troublemaker brother of Wednesday Addams and Fletcher knew that this role would be fun to play.

Fletcher plays basketball and baseball.

Wednesday Addams- is being play by 2 young ladies for this show, Laney Winkler is a 7th grader at Carlisle Junior High School, this is Laney’s 3rd performance with Carlisle Theater Arts Program, she was “Chip” in Beauty and the Beast Jr. and Wendy Jo in Footloose Jr. Laney said she wanted to play Wednesday because she is a dark person, BUT she finds out she does have love and a happier life in this story.

Laney is involved with Softball, volleyball, cheerleading, track and Junior High Student Council.

Wednesday Addams- is Maddie Lahiff a 8th grader at Carlisle Junior High, this is Maddie’s 4th performance with Carlisle Theater Arts Program, she was Young Anna in Frozen Jr, a silly girl in Beauty and the Beast Jr, Footloose Jr. and Les Miserable. Maddie’s’ 1st choice for Addams Family was Wednesday, she liked her personality and how she is comfortable in being herself.

Maddie’s older brother and her mother performed here at Carlisle with the Theater Arts Program.

Maddie is involved in Cheerleading, Track and National Junior Honor Society.

Grandmama- is played by Maddie Hoban, a 6th Grader at Carlisle Elementary School. Maggie wanted to play Grandmama because of her being a funky, kooky, feisty 102-year-old woman. Maggie started singing in her church choir and loved the thought of being in the theatre and the fun she could have.

Maggie is involved in basketball and cheerleading.

Ancestor- Adelyn Hawkins is a 7th Grader at Carlisle Junior High, this is Adelyn’s 3rd performance with the Carlisle Theater Arts Program, she was in Beauty and the Beast Jr. as a Silly Girl and Footloose Jr. Adelyn is a “dead ancestor”- as a Tennis Coach, she is dancing in the opening scene and all during the show.

Adelyn is involved in Softball, Volleyball and Cheerleading.

Ancestor- Alexis Baker is a 7th grader at Carlisle Junior High School, this is Alexis 3rd show with Carlisle Theater Arts Program, she was in Beauty and the Beast Jr. as a Silly Girl and Footloose Jr. Alexis is a “dead ancestor” as a waitress, she is dancing in the open scene and all during the show.

Alexis said when she saw Frozen Jr show and they announced the next years show of Beauty and the Beast Jr. she knew she would love to be a part of that show. She knew Bella Brown- (who played Belle) and wanted to perform with her. Alexis has performed in several plays and musicals at her church.

Alexis is involved in Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Softball and Student Council.

Ancestor- Ellie Hooks is a 5th grader at Carlisle Elementary School, this is Ellie’s 1st performance with Carlisle Theater Arts Program AND she is looking forward to participating in many more. Ellie’s plays a “dead ancestor” as a baseball player and will be dancing all during the show. This is Ellie’s 1st show with the Carlisle Theater Arts Program; she definitely wants to be a part of more shows in the future.

Ellie is involved in Basketball, Softball, Soccer and the Kindness Club.

Ancestor- Bailey Baker is a 5th grader at Carlisle Elementary School . This is Bailey’s 1st performance with Carlisle Theater Arts Program AND she is looking forward to participating in many more. Bailey plays a “dead ancestor” as a mummy, an will be dancing all during the show.

Bailey came to the Frozen Jr, Beauty and the Beast Jr. and Footloose Jr. shows and knew that she someday would like to be on the stage performing. She has participated in several plays and musicals at her church.

Bailey is involved in basketball, soccer, softball and The Kindness Club.
