Similar to what newspapers in the 19th Century did the www.warrencountypost.com. will publish a chapter a day from the book Deceptions in the Air. This fictional book is a blend of reality and conspiracy with a mix of Biblical Prophecy. My hope is that you enjoy the story, while it puts a desire in your heart to seek Truth.

Chapter 10: The Interview

The interview went great. Bri and Alex talked like two best friends would talk over a morning cup of coffee. Alex explained how holograms could be used in the advancement of mankind through science, military and global growth and peace.

“Reports are just now being released to the public on the use of holograms in the military. We have been able to send holograms into rough terrains where terrorist against humanity like to battle. These areas are detrimental to our troops whose mission is to bring peace to these same unstable areas. Holograms are allowing us to bring this peace without losing any life on our end... and normally very little life on the other end. Holograms create more of a change of heart rather than fear through violence,” Alex explained.

“Wow, these images are unbelievable. They seem so real,” Bri said while watching the video that was streaming over the airwaves while they talked.

“We’re set up to show you and the audience how this can work. Would you like to see it now?” Alex asked.

“Yes, I think we are. Let me ask my producer here. Jack, are you ready?” Bri turned to the camera where Jack was standing.

Alex and his staff had set up the area so they could send Jack’s hologram to Alex’s office in Washington DC, where Jack would be able to hold a conversation with Alex’s personal administrative assistant, Marcy Donovan.

The screen spilt. The cameras showed Jack fade from his spot in Albion, Michigan to an image in an office in Washington, DC where Marcy stood waiting to meet him.

“This is amazing, Bri. I know that I’m there with you in Michigan, but I also feel like I’m here next to Marcy... because I see myself on the monitor’s screen standing next to her.”

“Extend your hand out to shake hands with her,” Alex said.

Jack did as Alex suggested. When Marcy extended her hand out to meet his, her hand went through the hologram image.

“Oh, that’s weird. I mean really weird,” Jack said as he pulled his hand back towards his body.

The cameras rolled for a few more seconds on Jack while he held a simple conversation with Marcy. Forgetting he was a hologram for a second, Jack extended his hand out again to Marcy to say goodbye before fading back to his “real” spot in Albion.

“It was pleasure meeting you, Marcy… if you can actually call this meeting you,” Jack laughed.

“This is amazing. I don’t think the general public has any idea how much holograms are being used. And to think the people here in Michigan will be the ones taking us into the next phase. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, Dr. Alex K. Jones,” Bri said as she wrapped up the interview.

After the cameras quit rolling and the crew walked away, Bri and Alex found themselves standing there alone.

“Are you staying in town tonight? I mean do you have time to have dinner before you leave?” Bri asked a little timidly. “I would love to talk to you, in depth. I mean about everything. This hologram stuff, your life... what you’ve been doing these past 20 years.”

“Bri, I would love to get together, but I have this big meeting tomorrow morning that I have to be sure is ready.”

“I see,” she said as she came to the conclusion that he wasn’t as interested in her as she had hoped. It had been a long time and he was probably already taken.

Extend your hand and say thank you and goodbye, you idiot. And whatever you do keep yourself together, she thought to herself.

Extending her hand for a goodbye shake and with a fake smile, Bri said, “Well, okay then... It was great seeing you again. And... uh... good luck on your endeavors, Dr. Jones,”

“Wait!” Alex came back quickly. Seeing the disappointment in her face, he realized that it was sounding like he was rejecting the woman he’d always loved.

“How about I give you a more in-depth interview of the hologram project at my current lab in D.C. It’s the lab we are planning on moving here to Albion. You know an exclusive interview type thing… just me with you.”

Bri didn’t know how to answer. She didn’t know if her station would okay such a trip. And, she didn’t know if he was asking her this because he wanted to spend more time with her, or if he was just wanting more media exposure, like other people had so often used her for.

“I’ll tell you what. Let me see if Marcy can get me a later flight out of here tonight, and we can have dinner while we wait for your station manager’s answer about the trip,” he said a little anxious while praying he did not just shun the love of his life.

“That would be great,” she smiled.

Alex was able to get his ticket exchanged to a later flight, which gave them more time to spend together.
