Lebanon, OH - On behalf of Ownership and Management of Emerald Village Senior Living and Otterbein SeniorLife, we are pleased to announce that Otterbein SeniorLife has officially acquired Emerald Village Senior Living from Vista Prairie Communities.
A sincere message of appreciation to Rick Meserini and St. Augustine Health Ministries for their good work during the transition process. As the result, we believe there has been an almost transparent transition in ownership and management so that residents and partners (employees) of Emerald Village will continue to experience high quality services and support well into the future.
James Bettendorf, President /CEO of Vista Prairie Communities, the current ownership group, said “As Vista Prairie’s strategic planning led to a decision to sell Emerald Village, we were excited to find a buyer committed to compassionate community-based care for older adults.”
Jill Wilson, President/CEO of Otterbein SeniorLife said, “Emerald Village is a great fit for Otterbein, and aligned ideally with the Otterbein’s faith based mission to enrich individual life journeys for all. This is a vibrant, active community with engaged resident and employees that is very special. We believe our organizations blend very well and together will contribute greatly to continued excellent services for residents and working experiences for employees.”
Founded 20 years ago, Emerald Village Senior Living is a not-for-profit, faith-based, senior care organization that provides independent and assisted living care and accommodations. Emerald Village is a place for the young at heart. Designed for active seniors, the community combines exceptional senior experiences and affordable living with an impressive list of amenities.
Active since 1912, Otterbein SeniorLife is a faith-based, not for profit, senior care organization with locations throughout Ohio and in Franklin, Indiana. Otterbein served over 8,500 seniors in 2024 via 11 full-service senior continuing care communities, nine skilled nursing and rehabilitation neighborhoods, multiple home health and hospice care agencies, and a staffing organization. The Otterbein SeniorLife mission is “Inspired by faith, we strive to enrich individual life journeys for all.”
Otterbein SeniorLife has already assumed day-to-day management of Emerald Village, and its name has been changed to Otterbein North Olmsted SeniorLife Community. Otterbein will continue to retain the current staff and leadership, now with support from the Otterbein home office team.
In the coming weeks you will see new signs as you enter the community, new name badges on partners, and very likely a series of posters inside the building as Otterbein shares our now collective MISSION – VISION – VALUES, the core elements that drive the organization. This is another example of Otterbein, as a growing organization committed to serving seniors.
Please join us as we celebrate the sure to be superb future for the residents and partners the Otterbein North Olmsted SeniorLife Community.
