WARREN COUNTY, OH -- Warren County is known as Ohio's Largest Playground, and earlier this month, it became a large playground for man's best friend as Armco Park was the site for hundreds of dog to gather for fun activities.

Dog families gathered to chat on how their furry family members are doing.

Now in its third year at Armco Park, Dog-Oh-Roma (what it was titledthis year) gave dogs of all shapes, sizes, ages and breeds to come out and run, jump, fetch and swim — some just for fun, others for competition.

Hosted by the Warren County Kennel Club of Ohio (WCKC) and the German Shepherd Club of Greater Cincinnati (GSDC),  Dog-Oh-Roma had two major events happening for the dogs: Fast CAT and Dock Jumping.

Father and son came out for some fun family competition.

Fast CAT

In Fast CAT, the dogs are not chasing a fast cat, they are actually being challeneged to do a Coursing Ability Test. "It is a timed 100-yard dash where dogs run one at a time, chasing a lure. It’s over before you know it — and it’s nothing short of awe-inspiring to watch your dog run at top speed, ears back, eyes focused, legs strong," explained James Prickett who helped bring the event to Armco Park three years ago.

Running the course with confidence.

Dock Jumping

This year, the club added something new to the event, Dock Jumping hosted by Ultimate Air Dogs. Dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes participated. The only thing needed by the dog to participate was the ability to swim.

The first Afghan Hound Ultimate Air Dogs had ever had participated in dock jumping.

The family-friendly event celebrated everything canine, with activities for dogs and dog lovers, such as dog-related vendors, raffles, face painting, and food from the Barking Burger food truck!

If you missed this year's event, you can stay informed about next year's event (along with other canine events that are happening) by visiting either the Warren County Kennel Club of Ohio (WCKC) website or the German Shepherd Club of Greater Cincinnati (GSDC) Facebook pate.
