LOVELAND, OH — Sycamore Presbyterian Church and Journey to Hope are working together to provide an additional resource for individuals and families struggling with the challenges of mental health by offering a workshop titled Mental Wellness Matters: Tools for Families.
To register for this workshop, visit www.jtoh.org/our-groups.Mental Wellness Matters: Tools for Families will be presented by 1N5, and take place at Sycamore Presbyterian Church Feb. 12 - March 12 from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
The cost for the entire 5-week workshop, including program materials, is $20/person and will include:
- Mind Matters - an introduction to statistics around mental health, the mental health continuum, warning signs, how to support others, and where to find local and national resources.
- Unlocking the Power of Play - from improving memory and problem-solving skills to fostering empathy and building stronger relationships, play has the potential to have profound effects on our overall wellbeing
- Suicide Prevention Training - designed to train anyone in a position to prevent suicide about how to help save a life·
- Recharge & Reconnect - learn new ways to recharge and boost resilience through mindfulness, social connections, self-care strategies, sense of meaning, and a growth mindset.·
- Now You Know/Round Table - facilitated discussion about how to access the wisdom of the room. Parents will share what they’ve tried, what has worked for them, what has not worked, and what they intend to try going forward.

During this five-week workshop, attendees will learn:
- How to talk to children about mental well-being,
- How to identify the warning signs that a child is struggling with his/her self-worth and/or value,
- What to do if/when a child needs immediate help, and
- Several resiliency tools to use with themselves and other children.
