New Book Tells of One Woman’s Adventure from Cradle Catholic to Spiritual Mystic
MASON, OH -- A wildly determined Irish Catholic, L.A. McMurray from Mason, has recently released a new book God is in the Odd, the Ordinary, and Outside Church. Published by Braughler Books, McMurray’s enticing new book explores more than meets the eye. She pursues Heaven’s playbook to ensure she and her family evade the heat of Hades.
After many unanswered questions and ongoing frustrations with narrow-minded religious laws and leadership, she discovered God beyond the sacred walls of the church.
God is in the Odd, the Ordinary, and Outside Church is one person’s unique adventure from Cradle Catholic to Spiritual Mystic. Her unique voice is a refreshing addition to the conversation of what it means to worship in today’s language.
McMurray’s storytelling is a gift inherited through multiple generations of Celtic kin. Although her high school English teachers did not appreciate her ancestral creative voice and unique grammar skills, there was one English professor who told her, “You should be a writer.” Those words had staying power whenever she took pen to paper... or fingers to keyboard.
L.A. is an author, health promotions specialist, and spiritual traveler who shares with her readers about her most sacred moment — the evening she received a holy telegram from her father shortly after his death delivered by the coolest angel, actor Steve McQueen.
Her editorial on Doggy Yoga was published in The Bark Magazine, and a personal essay about her 104-year-old friend was published in The Cincinnati Enquirer. She has lived throughout Ohio, and currently lives in Mason with her family and General Mills, a 100-pound Golden Pyrenees mix from Kentucky.
“God is in the Odd, the Ordinary, and Outside Church” can be purchased online from Braughler Books for $19.99.
