Springboro Oktoberfest will look different this year. There won't be festival on Main Street with German music, dancing and beer. However, the delicious German food that is a staple of any great Oktoberfest celebration will still be there.
Since the in-person event isn't going to have because of the COVID-19 pandemic, people are asked to place their orders in advance and pick them up at the Springboro United Church of Christ, located at 5 Mill Street in Springboro. When people place their orders. they are asked to choose to pick it up on either Sept. 10 or Sept. 11 and pick-ups are being scheduled in 15-minute increments.
People can place an order by visiting www.oktoberfestspringboro.org. People are asked to make their orders from a computer, since orders placed from a cell phone may not work.
This year's menu has options for dinners, which include an entrée and two sides for $15. Choices of entree are goulash, schnitzel, 2 knockwurst, 2 cheddarwurst, 2 bratwurst, or cabbage roll. Sides include German green beans, German potato salad, mashed potatoes, red cabbage and apples, sauerkraut, and spatzle.
People can also order a Bavarian soft pretzel with spicy mustard on the side for $4. Dessert options include a cream puff, apple strudel, cherry strudel or cherry strudel for $5.
