CARLISLE, OH -- Every year at Carlisle Elementary School we have a Veteran's Day Assembly to honor our veterans and their families. I am blessed to be the principal in charge of this very important program. This is my 7thyear in the district and 6th year doing the program. (We missed doing it in November of 2020 due to Covid.)
Our assembly was on November 8, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. and we had 93 veterans recognized during the program. We had 4th graders sing under the direction of Mrs. Fitzpatrick, students read letters to the veterans, and six students in our Kindness Club gave the veterans thank you cards and gold coins as a thank you token to help honor their service to our country. I am very thankful for Sheila Baker, our superintendent’s secretary, that helps me with this program annually.
I hope to continue this tradition every year until I retire. The community of Carlisle is a great place to be, and the veterans have truly made a difference in this community, state, and our country.
