CARLISLE, OH -- Carlisle High School is striking a new path this winter season, as the school introduces Varsity Boys and Girls Bowling teams to its roster of sports. With an impressive 33 students trying out for the inaugural season, the program has already become a new point of pride for the school.
The tryouts, which were open to all interested students, saw a remarkable turnout, with 27 boys and 6 girls taking their shots at joining the bowling teams. After a competitive selection process, the final rosters were set: 18 boys were selected for the Varsity and Junior Varsity Boys teams, while 6 girls made up the Varsity Girls team. The boys' teams will compete in both Varsity and Junior Varsity divisions, giving students a chance to develop their skills at different levels of competition.
The addition of Varsity Bowling at Carlisle High School gives students another avenue to showcase their athletic talents during the winter season, alongside traditional sports like basketball and wrestling. The bowling teams will compete against other local schools and aim to build a strong program that could grow in future seasons.
The new program is already gaining attention, and with a strong roster in its first year, the Carlisle High School Bowling teams are poised to make a lasting impact in the local sports community.
David Steckel and Nick Powell are sharing the role of Varsity and Junior Varsity coaches for both the Boys and Girls Varsity teams. They are both excited to lead the teams through their inaugural season.
