Lebanon Couple Escape Corporate Life to Open Footprints Floors

LEBANON, OH -- Keith and Shelley Warren of Lebanon have both decided to take on new careers... together.

Keith, who spent decades in the corporate world, and Shelley, in the education world and then, a stay at home mom, have chosen to open a Footprints Floors franchise — Footprints Floors South Miami Valley, serving the Warren County and Butler County areas.

At 60 years old, Keith had spent the majority of his career in senior level sales, operations and IT positions in the third-party logistics world. However, after his most recent role was eliminated following an acquisition, he knew he needed to pursue a second act career. And, he wanted a career where he saw an opportunity to take control of his own path.

"It's also a business that my wife and I can build together to leave to our sons ... and for them to have and expand," Keith said.

The Warrens are not going into the flooring business blind.

Keith explained that before he ever joined the logistics industry, he spent a couple of years running his own contracting business where he spent most of his time focusing on and doing flooring.

"My specialty was in flooring and tile installation," he said. Keith explained that what he and Shelley like about being a Footprints Floors franchise is that fact that there really isn't any cold call sales. "We are contacting people who have contacted us (Footprints Floors) about flooring."

"We are a business that installs the floor products the customer has purchased or wants to purchase," he said.

An example he gave is when a customer wants to purchase wood flooring at Home Depot or Lowes, but does not know how to install it.. "Footprints Floors is there for that type of project," he said.

Keith explained that Footprints Floors is there to help the homeowner or business figure out the flooring they need or want and help them install it.
