Similar to what newspapers in the 19th Century did the www.warrencountypost.com. will publish a chapter a day from the book Deceptions in the Air. This fictional book is a blend of reality and conspiracy with a mix of Biblical Prophecy. My hope is that you enjoy the story, while it puts a desire in your heart to seek Truth.

Chapter 41: The Return

Alex spent his honeymoon night alone... trying to figure out what to do. While his mind was racing, his physical body was exhausted causing him to fall into a deep sleep. But not for long, for his sleep was interrupted by the ringing of the phone in his hotel room. Startled, he reached for the phone.

“Bri?”

“Mr. Alex Jones?” said a male voice.

“Yes,” Alex answered disappointed.

“We have a suitcase for Mrs. Jones down here at the front lobby,” the clerk said.

Alex paused for a moment trying to get his thoughts together.

“Thank you. I’ll be down in a minute,” he said, wondering what bag they were talking about.

Once back in the room, Alex opened the small suitcase. Inside, he found the note telling him the plan on how to use the suitcase... along with the teddy that Bri had bought to wear on their honeymoon night. When he pulled the teddy out, her phone, which was wrapped inside of it, fell to his feet. Throwing the teddy across the room in anger, he bent down and picked up her phone.

A picture of the two of them standing at the church they had visited just yesterday appeared as her screen saver when he powered the phone on. Fighting back anger and sorrow, he began going through her phone’s picture files. There were photos of her and her children. And, there were several photos of him and her together from yesterday.

“I never knew she was taking these,” Alex softly said.

As he continued clicking through her photos, he came across a photo of Bri and Jack on a sailboat. Never did she look so beautiful to Alex. Her smile was so relaxed and free.

“Why? What is it that we keep doing wrong?” Alex whispered as he stared at the photo growing more irritated. “That should be her with me… not some…!” Alex bit his tongue before blurting out what he wanted to say.

As he hurled the phone across the room, it hit the bouquet of red roses he had had delivered to surprise Bri, smashing the crystal vase to the floor. Falling back onto the bed, Alex placed his head into his hands trying to hold the anguish back that was trying to explode from within him.

After several minutes, he was able to get himself together. Slowly, he got up and headed to the broken vase where he picked up Bri’s phone. Before destroying her chip, he took her information and loaded it all onto his computer. Then, he flushed the chip down the toilet. Placing her empty phone and teddy back into her suitcase, Alex decided to place several of the rose pedals into an envelope along with a written letter.

My Dear Bri,

I fell in love with you the day I met you. And, I will never quit loving you. I pray you will never quit loving me. I need you. It was you who helped me find salvation as a young man. Now, I need your forgiveness so that I may find my way back to the Truth. I need your love to help guide me. Please Bri… I am begging you Sweet Pea… Please, Please, Please... do not forget about us.

Alex

“Please God help me win her back,” Alex prayed silently as he zipped the suitcase close to get it ready to be sent back to her home in Michigan.

He, then, began packing his own bag. He needed to head back to DC to start his mission of destroying the project... and winning Bri back.
