Similar to what newspapers in the 19th Century did the www.warrencountypost.com. will publish a chapter a day from the book Deceptions in the Air. This fictional book is a blend of reality and conspiracy with a mix of Biblical Prophecy. My hope is that you enjoy the story, while it puts a desire in your heart to seek Truth.

Chapter 42: The New Day

Bri slowly awakened from her deep sleep. As she opened her eyes, she thought she was waking up from a horrible nightmare. But as her swollen eyes opened, she accepted the fact it wasn’t a nightmare at all. It was real.

She looked around realizing she had no idea where she was. Slowly, everything began to come back to her. She looked at her finger and saw that the white gold band that Alex had placed on her wedding finger less than 24-hours ago was still there.

Cautiously, she rose from the bed and looked around at the room where she had slept. The floral wall paper and off-white carpet lit up as the sun peaked in through the drapes.

“I’m at Russ’s house,” she quietly said to herself. Slowly, she walked over to the dresser mirror to take a look at her eyes to see why she was having such a hard time seeing.

“Oh, my gosh. Look how swollen my eyes are. I look like I’ve been in a boxing match,” she said to herself, adding, “Thank God, I do not have to be in front of a camera today!”

Bri began looking for her suitcases so she could freshen up.

“Where’s my other suitcase?” she questioned out loud. After giving the room a thorough search, she realized she could not find it. Then, she thought she would give Jack a call and ask him to bring it up. But after another look around the room, she wasn’t able to find her phone either.

“This is just really strange,” she mused as she scratched her head.

Bri sat back down on the bed and tried to remember how she even got into the bed. Finally, she remembered how Russ helped her up the stairs... but that was about it.

Pulling herself back up, she headed towards the door closest to the window... hoping it would be a bathroom door, but instead she found herself inside a nice size walk-in closet filled with women’s clothing. After looking around and seeing only clothes, she closed the door and opted for the other door.

“Ah, a bathroom,” she smiled. On the bathroom counter she found two towels and a note.

Bri,

Go ahead and freshen up. There’s a robe you can use on the bathroom door, too. When you’re ready, come on down, and I’ll make you a good breakfast.

Russ.

For a moment, she felt all the anxiety lifted off her shoulders. “Shower and breakfast… maybe this is heaven,” she laughed to herself.
