Similar to what newspapers in the 19th Century did the www.warrencountypost.com. will publish a chapter a day from the book Deceptions in the Air. This fictional book is a blend of reality and conspiracy with a mix of Biblical Prophecy. My hope is that you enjoy the story, while it puts a desire in your heart to seek Truth.

Chapter 56: The Doctor

"Bri?” Alex said as he began to come back to his senses. “It’s really you? I’m not dreaming?”

“Yeah, it’s me.”

“I’m so sorry I got you into this mess. In my heart, I thought I was really doing something good for mankind,” he said, reaching up stroking her cheek.

“I know you were,” Bri said, gently running her fingers through his damp hair caused by his broken fever.

“The project still needs to be stopped, and we can do it.”

“Alex, you’re too sick to leave here,” Bri said.

“She’s right,” Russ chimed in.

“Someone has to get to the main server. There are two ways to do this. Either through my computer system in my home or wherever they took my office computer,” Alex explained.

“You don’t know where your office computer is?” Russ asked with concern.

“That’s one of the problems. I don’t know where it is or who has it,” Alex answered.

“So, if we get into your condo we can stop the project from your home computer? It’s able to get into the government system?” Bri asked.

“Yes, we should be able to… ughh!” Alex suddenly slumped over in severe pain.

Bri, who was still sitting by his side, rubbed his back as he clutched himself tightly trying to stop the stomach pain.

“I’m sorry. I don’t know if it’s a hangover from the alcohol, or if it’s from the medicine I took,” Alex apologized.

“I have a friend who’s an emergency room physician. She’s on her way over. She should be able to help get you comfortable.”

Just as Russ had finished saying that, the doorbell rang.

“I think that’s her now,” Russ said.

Russ got up to let the doctor in.

“Thanks for coming over, Michelle. Alex is in the den. While your checking him over, I’ll give you the rundown about all that is happening.”

Russ brought Dr. Michelle LeClaire into the den where Alex was now lying on the couch. After the formal introductions, Bri, wanting to give Alex privacy, stepped out of the room with Jack.

“I hear you are a very sick man,” Michelle said sitting down next to Alex to check his vitals.

Once she got close enough to touch his wrist, both Alex and she got a look of surprise on their faces.

“You’re the lady who allowed me to borrow her phone at the hotel in Wilmington,” Alex said.

“Yes. And you’re the man who just got married at the beach,” she smiled, asking, “how did you end up here so sick. And, did your wife let you back in the room?”

Since Dr. Le Claire was one of Russ’s closest friends and was part of the Green Ministries Prophecy team, Alex felt comfortable filling her in while she examined him. He even told her about removing the chip himself.
