FRANKLIN, OH -- The Northwestern Warren County Celebrates America-250 Committee is proud to announce the winner of its student-led emblem contest, commemorating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.
The winning design was created by Harper Crosthwaite, a 9th-grade student at Franklin High School. Harper’s emblem will be featured on official commemorative shirts and other merchandise as part of the community’s America 250 celebration.
The contest was open to students in grades 6–12 from both Franklin and Carlisle schools and drew a total of twelve entries. Judging was conducted by a panel of eight representatives, with four judges from the Franklin Area Historical Society and four from the Carlisle Area Historical Society. After a close evaluation resulted in a tie, a Carlisle Community member served as the tiebreaker to determine the final winner.
In recognition of her achievement, Harper will receive a $1,000 scholarship awarded by the Northwest Warren County Chamber of Commerce. She will also be honored with an invitation to ride in the community’s Fourth of July parade.
The Northwestern Warren County Celebrates America-250 Committee extends its appreciation to all students who participated in the contest and contributed their creativity to this historic milestone.
Details regarding the purchase of commemorative shirts and additional merchandise will be shared soon through the Franklin and Carlisle Historical Society website and social media pages, as well as the Chamber’s communication channels.
