The camp will take place from July 27 to 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. It will host 10 to 20 campers; half will be tech and half will perform. Participants can choose areas of concentration: performing (singing and choreography), performing (acting only), stage management/set design/construction, costumes/props/make-up/hair, or lighting/sound/special effects.
The campers will collaborate to create and perform an interactive murder mystery. They will work with a script that is 80% complete. The camp counselors and campers will work together to complete the script and present a performance at 5:30 pm on Friday, July 31.
Due to space constraints, campers will be limited to inviting four audience members each.
The theatre camp costs $250 per camper. This includes a souvenir t-shirt, production fees, and performance tickets. Campers will be asked to bring their own lunch due to dietary restrictions/allergies. MCP will provide daily afternoon snacks.
